La Direzione regionale musei della Toscana con i suoi musei e luoghi della cultura, testimonia lo straordinario e ricchissimo patrimonio culturale e l’eccezionale e multiforme storia della Toscana, dagli insediamenti etruschi e romani, passando per i celebri capolavori del Medioevo e del Rinascimento, fino alle opere del Novecento.

L’istituto diretto dal 2015 da Stefano Casciu, è un organo periferico del Ministero della Cultura – Direzione Generale Musei che gestisce, tutela e valorizza i musei statali a livello regionale favorendo la collaborazione con altre realtà territoriali per migliorare la qualità dei servizi. Nato come Polo Museale della Toscana con DPR 171 del 29 agosto 2014 (e successivo DM del 23 dicembre 2014) è stato successivamente denominato Direzione regionale musei della Toscana con Decreto del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri n. 169 del 2 dicembre 2019.

La nuova sede centrale è al primo piano di Palazzo Mozzi Bardini, in Piazza de’ Mozzi 2 a Firenze.

Attenzione con allerta meteo giallo/arancio/rosso i parchi, giardini e aree all’aperto della Direzione regionale Musei nazionali Toscana potrebbero essere chiusi al pubblico per garantire condizioni di sicurezza.
