La Direzione regionale musei della Toscana con i suoi musei e luoghi della cultura, testimonia lo straordinario e ricchissimo patrimonio culturale e l’eccezionale e multiforme storia della Toscana, dagli insediamenti etruschi e romani, passando per i celebri capolavori del Medioevo e del Rinascimento, fino alle opere del Novecento.

L’istituto è un organo periferico del Ministero della Cultura – Direzione Generale Musei che gestisce, tutela e valorizza i musei statali a livello regionale favorendo la collaborazione con altre realtà territoriali per migliorare la qualità dei servizi.

La sede centrale è al primo piano di Palazzo Mozzi Bardini, in Piazza de’ Mozzi 2 a Firenze.
